Once clicked, users are redirected through several sites and finally land on a legitimate McAfee page that offers to purchase a McAfee® Total Protection subscription. ![]() In order to push users more, the scammers inform that a discount is available. The scammers are trying to get users to click the button “Renew Now”, “Protect PC”, or “Renew Subscription”. It shows a warning message stating that since the computer is not protected, it is vulnerable to viruses and other malware. The scam claims that the McAfee subscription expired a few days ago, and from that moment on, the computer became unprotected against virus threats. ![]() The scammers are trying to trick users into believing that this is a genuine message coming from McAfee.
